Seijin no Hi 2023: AKB48 “The Hop-Step-Jump-Generation”

#AKB48 – Since 2009, members of the Japanese idol group AKB48 have traditionally celebrated their coming of age (Seijin no Hi) at the Kanda Myojin in Tokyo. On 10 January 2022, AKB48 members Hirata Yuki, Yoshida Karen, Yamada Kyoka, Hirano Hikaru and Utada Hatsuka celebrated their coming of age. Kawahara Misaki was unable to attend the ceremony due to health reasons.

Yoshida Karen, who joined AKB48 Team 8 at the age of 12, regretted that not all members could attend this important day. When asked the traditional name of the generation, she replied, “We are the “Hop-Step-Jump Generation”! And Hirano noted that Kawahara Misaka picked the name.
