"W-KEYAKI FES." Concert Series Discontinued
#日向坂46, #櫻坂46 – The management Seed & Flower LLC of the two Japanese idol groups Hinatazaka46 and Sakurazaka46, which originated from the idol group Keyakizaka46, has announced that the two groups’ joint concert series “W-KEYAKI FES.” at Fuji-Q Highland Conifer Forest will not be continued from this year on. Both groups have chosen their home concert arena for outdoor concerts and will go their separate ways from now on.
Hinatazaka46 has chosen Yokohama Stadium and held its 4th Hinatansei anniversary concert there in early April. Sakurazaka, on the other hand, will give its “3rd YEAR ANNIVERSARY LIVE” at Zozo Marine Stadium in November.
The “W-KEYAKI FES.” has emerged from Keyakizaka46’s “Keyaki Republic” concert series and has been as popular with fans as it has been controversial. Thus, although both groups have performed the concerts together, but at the same time, presenting joint songs, actually did not take place. In particular, the Hiragana Keyaki performances had more the quaracter of a half-time-show. “W-KEYAKI FES. 2021” provided for separate days for each of the two groups, with a joint concert on the third day, where the two groups only alternated, and except for a few Hiragana Keyaki songs and W-Keyakizaka no Uta, no Keyakizaka46 songs were presented. At “W-KEYAKI FES. 2022” there was no joint concert although announced, because the Sakurazaka46 part had to be postponed due to Covid-19, and even if there had been, a joint performance was not scheduled.
