Most significant Change since Debut. AKB48 dissolves Team Structure.

#AKB48 – Since April 2006 with the debut of the original Team K and later Team B, the Japanese idol group AKB48 consists of several teams. Teams 4 and 8 were added later. Furthermore, the teams have been shuffled on several occasions. On 29 April 2023 during the “AKB48 Spring Concert 2023”, the group has now announced the dissolution of all teams as well as the captain structure. The theater performances will again be presented by 16 members. In addition to the main group, only one Kenkyuusei team will continue to exist. The model is the sister group STU48, which has not had a team structure since its debut. The teams will give their graduation performances at KT Zepp Yokohama on 4 to 6 August 2023.
