After the Japanese railway company JR East opened the newly renovated East-West Passage on 7 October 2019, the outdoor area is now being approached and the shop structure is being revised as part of the “Akihabara Reset” project. Unfortunately this also affects the popular fan and tourist spot, the AKB48 CAFE & SHOP. The management of AKB48 CAFE announces that the cafe will have to move as of 1 January 2020 and will therefore close on 31 December 2019. At the same time it was announced that they are currently looking for a new location and are confident to reopen the cafe. The closing also affects the online services.<\/p>\n
