In January 2014, EX-AKB48 member and Enka star Iwasa Misaki sang about the historic port city of Tomonoura south of Fukuyama in Hiroshima Prefecture with her song “Tomonoura Bojou”. Fukuyama works together with Hiroshima Prefecture to preserve the historic cityscape and landmarks that its people have preserved for generations. Together, the “Tomo: Hitokuchi Machikatashu” project was launched to raise funds for its preservation. Iwasa Misaki was appointed Ambassador of the project on 6 December 2019.<\/p>\n
